With a few taps and a couple of strokes on your keyboard, you can Make Money Shopping online.  What’s more, you can Make Money on other people’s shopping.

Online discounts can be broken up into two categories: Front End and Back End Discounts.  Before you get that mouse and credit card ready, you’ll have to do
some administrative work.  I know, but don’t start grumbling because little more than filling out forms is required.

Step 1: If you don’t have your own web site, sign up with a free homepage hosting site such as www.geocities.com.  You can essentially design and post anything on
your homepage, and as you’ll see, the level of interest attained will directly correlate to the amount of profit realized.

Step 2: Visit the merchant sites that you plan to shop at.  Scroll down to the bottom of the page and check to see if there is any mention of an Affiliate Program.  If
you don’t see it, try the “customer service” or “help” link.

If you find the link, proceed to sign up with the program and await confirmation of acceptance.  You’ll indicate your homepage when signing up however some
companies poo-poo individual homepages and reject the submission.  If this happens, you might want to input your work’s or a friend’s web site.  Though most forms
are extremely easy to fill out, you will need to supply correct information and with some umbrella programs such as www.linkshare.com, a social security number is
required.

Step 2A: You’ll most likely receive your affiliate link via email along with instructions on how to publish it.  Transfer the email to a special folder for safekeeping and
when ready to shop, click on your link.  For those more entrepreneurial in nature, publishing the link is merely a matter of copying and pasting.  Every order,
including your own, earns commission so a page with exciting and interesting material can drive sales.

Step 2B: While at the web site, check to see if the company has a loyalty program and sign up for that.  You will also need to supply correct information to receive
your reward which comes mainly by postal delivery however some merchants do dole out commission in store credit for future use.

Step 2C: Also sign up with the web site’s email list, as often you’ll receive offers and discounts.  If you worry about spam or too many emails, create an additional
account used exclusively for shopping.

Even if the web site does not have an affiliate program, all is not lost.

Step 3: Sign up with one or several Reward Programs such as www.mypoints.com or www.memolink.com.  Unlike the affiliate programs which usually pay cash, you’ll
receive points toward rewards such as gift cards, but at least you’ll earn something.  Another option is online rebate sites such as www.ebates.com.

If you still haven’t found either an affiliate, reward, or rebate program that the web site belongs to, you can try your credit card or airline web sites for Shopping
Portals.  When placing your order through these portals, you can earn credit card points or frequent flyer miles and might even be privy to exclusive discounts.

Finally, you can also ask the web site’s customer service for any reward program it participates in.

Step 4: Search Online Coupon sites such as www.flamingoworld.com or www.dealitup.com for coupons.  Ideally, you want to find a code as some of these sites only
supply a link.  Why only a link?  As true entrepreneurship allows, these web sites have joined tons of affiliate programs with tons of exclusive affiliate coupons to
draw shoppers to their sites.  They’ll receive commission when you shop through their link so it behooves them to only supply a link to a discount and not the
coupon code.

Step 5: Yes, you are ready to shop.  Close your browser, restart your computer, and/or clear the cache.  Sometimes, in the course of investigating deals and
clicking on links, you’ll hold onto a cookie which will translate into someone else earning the commission or reward.

Enter the merchant site through the portal of your choice whether it be affiliate, reward, rebate, or other.
When you have finished shopping, supply your merchant loyalty number and coupon code before checking out.
Congratulations, you have successfully piled online deals.

Here is an example of what I do for a business I shop for.

I enter OfficeDepot.com through my linkshare.com affiliate link.  I receive 2-8% commission, depending on what I buy.
When ready to check out, I supply a coupon code-usually a $30 off $150 coupon-as well as my loyalty program number which entitles me to 5% (formerly 10%) back
on purchases.
At the end of the order, I submit the order to Office Depot’s school charity program, earning 5% of the order for a designated school.
I try to use a credit card that has a rebate program.

These savings do work independently of each other thus with this method, I would save approximately $50 off the original $150 order.  Now to this week’s grocery list.
